The Rottweiler is originally a German guard and defense dog which is also called Rottweiler Metzgerhund, German Bouvier or Rott for short. This breed is still used in monitoring activities, but is also a loyal family dog

The Rottweiler belongs to group 2 in the FCI-classification: breeds of the Pinscher, Schnauzer, Molosser Dogtype and Swiss Mountain dogs. The dogs in this group are very defensive and belong to the group of gaurd dogs. They are muscular, physically very strong, and are usually scaring. Dog breeds belonging to this category have a strong character and strong personality.

Rottweilers are large dogs whose males reach a shoulder height of 61 cm to 68 cm, and the females grow to a height of 56 cm to 63 cm.
